1.11.1 M-2 Heavy Manufacturing District and Sexually Oriented Establishment District
The objective of this district is to provide areas which are suitable for manufacturing uses which might produce objectionable characteristics as a part of their normal operational activities but to minimize their effects upon surrounding development through strict adherence to performance standards and by review of manufacturing uses which produce abnormal objectionable characteristics and to provide areas which are suitable for sexually oriented establishment uses which studies have shown might produce objectionable characteristics through adverse secondary effects into the surrounding community.
No new M-2 Heavy Manufacturing District or Sexually Oriented Establishment District may be created which contains less than ten (10) acres.

The following are types of businesses that might be located in a
Heavy Manufacturing District / Sexually Oriented Establishment District:

   • AGRICULTURAL PRODUCE:
      a. ANIMALS
      b. SALES OF PRODUCT ON PREMISES
      c. CROPS
   • AMBULANCE SERVICE
   • AMMUNITION MANUFACTURING
   • BOTTLES EQUIPMENT AND SUPPLY
   • BUILDING MATERIALS - RETAIL & WHOLESALE (excluding lumber yards)
   • CABINET MAKERS, SUPPLIES AND EQUIPMENT
   • DEER AND GAME PROCESSING
   • EQUIPMENT - FARM AND CONSTRUCTION - SALES, SERVICE AND REPAIR
   • FUEL STORAGE
   • JUNKYARDS (INCLUDING SALVAGE AND SCRAP METAL)
   • LANDFILL - INERT
   • LUMBERYARDS AND MILLWORK
   • MEAT PACKING, BUTCHERING AND/OR PROCESSING (slaughter house)
   • PRINTING
   • RAILROAD FREIGHT STATION
   • RAILROAD PASSENGER STATION
   • SIGNS - OFF PREMISES
   • UTILITY - PRIVATE (power plant)
       WITH MINOR GENERATING FACILITY

NOTE: Rest assured, any of this is a possibility. Who wants even the "possibility" of a Sexually Oriented Establishment in our neighborhood?
POWER PLANT (private/public/wholesale): Just when we thought the power plant had been stopped!! But this acreage is just what a power plant needs: directly next to the power grid, railroad tracks, and a gas line less than a 1/2 mile away!
